Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) scheme is being implemented by the Government of India in 530 educationally backward blocks of the state of Bihar with the objective of connecting the deprived girls of the weaker sections of the society with the mainstream of education.
Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in the state is basically a hostel, where enrolled and boarded girls study from class 5 to class 12 in the nearby middle / high school. There are three types of Kasturba Gandhi Vidyalaya operating in the state of Bihar.
KGBV Type-I (Class 6th to 8th) Capacity: 100 Girts
KGBV Type-III (Class 6th to 12th) Capacity: 200 Girls
KGBV Type-IV (Class 9th to 12th) Capacity: 100 Girls
